About Knox by Isabell Böbel /Knox's owner/ :
Knox has lots of drive, but is absolutely calm and easy going in every day life. Since he loves food and toys, it is very easy to work with him. With food, he is concentrated, focused and thinks a lot about what he is doing. Shaping is very enjoyable because he knows that he has to offer different behaviours and if he doesn't get the reward, he offers a different behaviour. If he has to learn new things, he is very smart and concentrated. He is a real thinker but he adds speed as soon as he knows what to do. With toys you can activate his crazy and loud side... He barks if he does agility... but if he doesn't work he is absolutely squiet and you don't even realize that he is present. Knox isn't a hard dog and in every situation easy to handle. But since he has a high frustration tolerance while working, he can handle pressure and criticism. So it's easy to correct mistakes without any loss of drive and motivation. But, and that is the most important thing for me: it's not necessary to handle him with pressure and harshness... he has lots of will to please and everything „works“ without any effort. In Agility he is very fast and tight. His biggest strength is definitely jumping / turning tight and accelerating out of turns. He isn't afraid of any noises. He loves thunder and lightning, fireworks etc. Honestly I don't know why, but as soon as he hears these kind of noises he is positively excited. Knox loves other dogs and sometimes he reminds me more of a labrador then a border collie. If he doesn't like a dog, he turns away and tries to leave the situation. With people he is friendly and open. During our walks we meet a lot of other people. As soon as they start talking to him, he goes to them, jumps up and wants to say hello. The only thing he is afraid of: Bees Biggest Love: Sheep, Watching football (or any ball sports..) and CATS! He is totally addicted to cats. |
